Missouri’s beautiful Capitol building perched atop the riverfront proves to be a gorgeous backdrop for Phillips Hardy crews as construction is underway on the Bicentennial Bridge Project, named in honor of Missouri’s 200-year anniversary later this summer. The 765-foot pedestrian & bicycling bridge will span Union Pacific’s Railroad tracks to Adrian’s Island, a 30-acre forest and wetland area along the Missouri River. The 12-foot wide bridge is designed for both pedestrian and bicycle traffic and will also allow smaller emergency vehicles if needed. Once complete, visitors will be able to hike, explore and enjoy the Missouri riverfront. The bridge design will comply with ADA standards in order to ensure everyone will be able to access and enjoy this recreational area. Here at Phillips Hardy, we are very proud to be a part of this signature project which not only commemorates our State, but will also expand tourism to our Capitol and encourage wellness & recreation for citizens from Missouri, and beyond.
