Missouri

Senior Project Manager

Phillips Hardy Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional in the Heavy Highway industry to fulfill the responsibilities of Project Manager at our Columbia, Missouri office.  The responsibilities of the project manager will be to oversee the work of the construction team or teams responsible for various scopes of work. The PM is responsible for ensuring conformance of the work with project plans and specifications.  The ideal candidate should be very diverse in their field experience and will have a general understanding for managing scopes of work such as: grading, drainage, utilities, concrete paving, highway and bridge construction.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: oversight and management of field operations, scheduling of all site resources, work quality/quality control, subcontractor/supplier coordination, and all aspects of project site safety.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry is a must.
  • The successful candidate will show an ability to manage multiple tasks, and possess strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Familiarity working with City, State and Federal government agencies (Departments of Transportation and/or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) is desirable.
  • The candidate needs to be very organized and possession of strong computer skill are a must.  Electronic document management will be an everyday responsibility.

Heavy-Highway/Civil Superintendent

Haeavy-Highway/Civil Superintendent manages daily site activities by ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule. The Haeavy-Highway/Civil Superintendent also directly manages the lead personnel and staff on each project site.

Responsibilities

  • Work with General Structures Superintendents regarding job specific needs. Plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities.
  • Daily contact with job site crews to ensure project time schedule and workforce needs are being met.
  • Schedules subcontractors to complete work as needed. Monitors subcontractor work to ensure work is complete per subcontractor agreement. Interact with Owner Representatives in regards to project requirements and quantity tracking for payment.
  • Promote safe working environment; Identify workplace hazards and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Complete daily record keeping including daily logs, equipment schedules, material schedules, and time cards.
  • Prepares and participates in regular job site meetings throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ensures all work follows specified quality standards. Inspects field work for quality compliance, materials for quality compliance and review assembly of manufacturer’s literature and drawings before work begins.
  • Regular participation in training for construction methods and safety. Supports training opportunities for staff.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required certifications: Excavating Safety Training, OSHA 10 hour
  • Preferred certifications: OSHA 30 hour, CPR, First Aid, NPDES.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, reports, construction plans, construction specifications, and legal documents.
  • Experience with dirt, earthwork, grading, bridge construction, and all the heavy equipment necessary to complete Haeavy-Highway/Civil construction activities.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad and iPhone.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Familiarity with Unions.
  • Ability to travel

Arkansas

    Heavy Equipment Operator

    Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for efficiently, effectively, and responsibly running their assigned equipment. They will consistently complete daily visuals, keep equipment clean and greased, and immediately reporting any maintenance concerns to their Superintendent.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete assigned tasks in a timely, effective manner.
    • Consistently complete daily visuals of assigned equipment, as well as meter reads and any other reoccurring tasks.
    • Keep equipment cleaned and greased. Report any maintenance concerns to Superintendent immediately.
    • Work collaboratively with crew members and other employees; maintain a professional demeanor.

    Qualifications

    • Experience operating heavy equipment.
    • Preferred: Current OSHA (10 Hour) Certification – can be obtained online
    • Familiarity with grade control.
    • Occasional Saturday availability.
