Project Manager

Phillips Hardy Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional in the Heavy Highway industry to fulfill the responsibilities of Project Manager.  The responsibilities of the project manager will be to oversee the work of the construction team or teams responsible for various scopes of work. The PM is responsible for ensuring conformance of the work with project plans and specifications.  The ideal candidate should be very diverse in their field experience and will have a general understanding for managing scopes of work such as: Grading, drainage, utilities, concrete paving, highway and bridge construction.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: oversight and management of field operations, scheduling of all site resources, work quality/quality control, subcontractor/supplier coordination, and all aspects of project site safety.

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry is a must.
  • The successful candidate will show an ability to manage multiple tasks, and possess strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Familiarity working with City, State and Federal government agencies (Departments of Transportation and/or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) is desirable.
  • The candidate needs to be very organized and possession of strong computer skill are a must.  Electronic document management will be an everyday responsibility.

Project Superintendent

Phillips Hardy Inc. is seeking a seasoned professional in the Heavy Highway industry to fulfill the responsibilities of Superintendent.  Must manage multiple aspects of assigned projects, including but not limited to: oversight and management of field operations, scheduling of all site resources, sequencing, work quality/quality control, subcontractor/supplier coordination, and all aspects of project site safety.

Skills & Experience:

  • Work with project manager to determine method and sequencing of construction. Plans, directs, coordinates and budgets activities.
  • Manage day to day activities and prepare daily electronic field logs.
  • Manage multiple tasks, crews and projects as well as be able to handles changes in project priority based on resource availability.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with owner, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Communicate and promote safe working environment and company safety standards, with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations in regards to crane and bridge construction.
  • Must be able to read plans and have a strong knowledge of various DOT specifications and standards. Superintendent will inspect work in progress to ensure quality workmanship that conforms to contract specifications and standards.  Working knowledge of MoDOT Quality Management Program a plus.
  • Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policies and procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience working the heavy civil and bridge construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Able to produce and communicate a 3 week look ahead schedule.
  • Strong computer skills

Project/Quality Manager

Phillips Hardy Inc. is seeking a professional in the Heavy Highway industry to fulfill the responsibilities of Project/Quality Manager.  Job functions will include: update/maintain project submittal log; review shop drawings and submittal for conformance with specifications; organize and chair bi-weekly project meetings; preparation of daily QC reports; conduct preparatory, and initial and follow up inspections.  Other responsibilities include: maintain “as-built” drawings; prepare activity hazard analysis; and update/maintain project schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with computer software (MS Office, Microsoft Project, QCS/RMS, etc.)
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work at remote locations
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid driver license

Administrative Assistant

Phillips Hardy is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant in our Columbia office.  The position would support the estimating and project management departments, include general office support duties, and offer the opportunity to cross train in either accounting or contract administration, whichever best compliments the ideal candidate’s skill level and education.  Competitive pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Valid driver license
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Human resource and/or marketing experience preferred

Internship

Phillips Hardy is seeking an active Civil Engineering student for an internship to support the estimating, project management, and job cost functions of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Must be self- motivated, detail oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast paced environment

Drug
Testing
